Message from the President

The weekend just gone, saw round two of our competition with Bateau Bay. We went into the weekend with a small lead from the first round. Some challenging conditions and only nine people fishing meant that we were going to find it challenging to stay ahead. So it proved. BB seemed to have some good catches, but when the scores were tallied up, our Estuary fishos did well and we ended up with 1117.3 points on the day.

When this was added to the first round score we ended up with 2618.6 points and
we ended up taking out the trophy by 200 odd points. I looked at the trophy and I only saw one Gosford RSL badge, so this was the first win since the year 2000! Congratulations to everyone who fished. Your catch made this win possible. Special call out to Steve Tait and Larry Prior. They were anchored up when a 40 ft catamaran ran over them and they were stuck underneath it for an hour before they were able to get themselves free. Steves boat lost its windscreen, fish finders and rods but he and Larry made the weigh in, and Steve took out the lucky angler prize.

Our top three rods were:
John Timp 267.7
Dave Brown 191.5
Dean Wetherall 186

Toby Russell managed a 9KG Cobia and rounded out the top four! Great work everyone
